From Near Retirement to Resilience: The Firefighter’s Journey with a Miracle Supplement

From Near Retirement to Resilience: The Firefighter’s Journey with a Miracle Supplement

Todd doesn’t Fuck around. He isn’t ever going to read this story, he doesn’t know what a blog is, his cell phone doesn’t have internet, he sure as hell doesn’t have social media. Biohacking, nutrition, fitness and health don’t cross his mind.

His name is John Todd-when it’s a good day he goes by John but most days he is just Todd.

Todd is a fireman not a firefighter. He has decades of experience. He is a no-nonsense, hardened veteran of the fire service. He has seen it all, from small kitchen fires to booming commercial buildings.

He has traversed more roofs than santa clause.

Flowed enough water to fill Lake Errie.

His yellow helmet is mostly black…..the shield in the front barely hangs on.

His turnouts are stained and dirty-he wears them as a badge of honor. Nothing fazes him; his courage and bravery are an inspiration to his peers.

But, this life is not free…..

John’s age had caught up with him. His body was cracking, he limped and hobbled along. His voiced still boomed on the fireground and around the kitchen table he was as witty and intimidating as ever.

But the increasing stiffness and soreness in his joints, was on show for everyone to see. John would shovel down ibuprofen when nobody was looking and push through.

John frequently only slept 2-3 hours during a 24 hour shift. Now he found himself exhausted after lunch. Still he found a way to power through.

But things changed once he got home.

John used to come home….take a minute for a cup of coffee and then it was full steam into the day. Maybe it was helping a neighbor, repairing the old gym at the school or teaching a local first aid class. Somehow John was still a fireman even when he wasn’t a being a fireman.

But things were changing.

John found himself coming home exhausted and instead falling asleep for a few hours before moving on with his day.

John had a yearly checkup coming up. He thought nothing of it. He didn’t really believe in health or nutrition and doctors weren’t his cup of tea.

But the fire department mandated a yearly exam so off he went.

John didn’t like his doctor.

The Doc was young, hip, fit, kind and full of happiness. All things John detested. Being around him made John nauseous. But he did mention one thing that caught John’s attention. He mentioned BPC-157 had extended the careers of many of his clients in the public safety occupation.

John couldn’t bring himself to ask any follow up questions to the doc….it would have meant spending more time with the shmuck.

A few weeks later john walked past the restrooms and heard some whispering. They were talking about him. A group of young hip and fit firefighters (nothing like John) chirping in on how difficult it was to work with john, how his expectations were more than he could carry out himself. John kicked the door in and confronted the three of them. They all back pedaled. Johns eyes cut into the soul of each of these young men. The three men were all bigger and strong than John but the look in Johns eyes made each of the young men tremble.

But the damage was done.

John’s back was up against the wall

John was no stranger to struggle…..his whole childhood had been one big nightmare. But this was new…..he always succeeded in the fire service. John thought back to what the Doc had said about BPC-157. He figured he better look into it. He walked down to the library (John doesn’t have the internet at his house) and started his research.

BPC-157 sounded promising

John wasn’t familiar with the internet or computers for that matter (yes we know….its hard to believe) but he was able to find his way through and read a few articles on the product. At this point in John’s life he was going to need to take serious action and this seemed like his shot.

John didn’t order things off the internet so his only option was going back to see the doc….he wasn’t happy about this. This wasn’t the first time John had to swallow his pride….when you live a life like John’s there tends to be some serious fuck ups that come along. And John was not the kind of man who fucked up and didn’t fix it.

John hated taking BPC-157-it went against the way he lived his life. Every time he swallowed those pills in morning he felt a little pride vanish from him.

For years John had lived off black coffee, red meat and the occasional cigarette. It had served him well. This new modern medicine was not what he wanted.

BUT….the shit was working!

The impact of taking BPC-157 was miraculous.

Now….giving John Todd an extra boost of energy was not what everyone was looking for. Afternoon naps were never a thing in Johns firehouse but usually the fellas could find a minute for a short break. Not anymore. John had every minute of the day plotted out. Drill, Drill Drill….help out a fellow resident…..Dril some more, run calls, pre plan buildings, fix this, clean that. The pace was unrelenting! Many were asking what got into John.

John would never say a word about the supplement he was taking but others could see the change.

John moved like he was 10 years younger (of course the canyons of wrinkles, the sandpaper hands and deep raspy voice did nothing to hide his age). But suddenly the young fit firefighters could no longer keep pace with John. Sure, years of experience, training and dedication made tasks much easier for him (hell he could do most tasks blindfolded). The daily aches and pains just weren’t as bad as they used to be…..and this wasn’t good for any young firefighter coming to John’s station. The story around the department “Todd is starting to show his age” was gone.

John was amazed by how much better he felt too…..He hated giving credit to modern medicine.

John wont do this job forever….

Nobody lives forever and no firefighter is invincible. But for John he just found an extension on life. John lives for the fire service and he found what he needed to keep going. BPC-157 is not for everyone, but for John it worked. For the men and women he serves…..consider yourself lucky-you’re in safe hands. For those that have to work beside him…..WELL good fucking luck-hold on tight its gonna be a hell of a ride!
